The Liberty Education Foundation’s Innovator of the Year award recognizes and encourages education innovation in Liberty Public Schools. The Liberty Education Foundation’s Innovator of the Year demonstrates the use of techniques or methods in new or unique ways to improve the delivery of instruction to students in Liberty Public Schools.

 

2023 Innovator of the Year

The South Valley Middle School 8th Grade Impact Team, Ashley Brown, Marie Goeglein, Staci Reichard and Carrie Willoughby, received the Innovator of the Year award for the 2022-2023 school year. This innovative team connects curriculum and real world skills to provide students with purposeful learning. Congrats to all for this recognition of your efforts!

 
 

2022 Innovator of the Year

The Liberty Virtual School team, James Eltiste, Jill Eltiste, Holly Logan and Laura Pixler, received the Innovator of the Year award for the 2021-2022 school year! The LVS team received this prestigious honor for their dedication to building a virtual school that offered quality instruction and classroom connection. Congrats!

The North Nation by Design team, Josh Baldwin, Ryan Dahm, Amber Leirman and Roselynn Zicarelli, received the 2020-2021 Innovator of the Year Award! Huge congrats on this well-deserved honor.

The dynamic duo of Studio 2 at EPiC Elementary, Carly Bogaards and Christine Torres, received the 2019-2020 Innovator of the Year Award. They received this prestigious honor for their strategies to incorporate storytelling across the curriculum. Congrats!

How Innovator of the Year is Selected

Parents, students, principals, administrators, colleagues or patrons of the District may nominate individual teachers or teaching teams for this award (the deadline is typically mid-January). Nominees will be notified of their nomination and must complete a short application. The Liberty Education Foundation’s Innovator of the Year Selection Committee will select the recipient and publicly announce the Innovator at the Liberty Public Schools Community Breakfast. The Foundation will present a gift to the Innovator of the Year to invest in their continued innovation practices.
